About us
A family farm that sells its own fruit.
Kasliwal Farms is a family-run mango farm in Maharashtra, India. We grow Kesar mangoes and sell them directly to the households that eat them, with nobody in between.
Where the farm came from
Dr Pravin Kasliwal planted the first mango tree on this land more than forty years ago. He was a doctor by profession, and the farm was never meant to be a business — it was something he wanted to build and be proud of. The trees outlived that intention. Two generations later, the same family still runs the farm, and the people who used to play between the rows now decide when to harvest.
Every summer the family comes back to the farm for the harvest. It is part work and part reunion, and it is the reason the operation has stayed small on purpose.
How we grow and ripen
We do not use calcium carbide to ripen our mangoes, and we never have. Carbide makes fruit look ready before it is — the colour turns but the sugar never develops. Our mangoes ripen on the tree, or afterwards in ambient conditions, which takes longer and costs us shelf life. The trade is worth it: a naturally ripened Kesar announces itself by smell before you have finished opening the box.
We grow organically, without chemical pesticides. If you want the specifics of a given season — when we harvested, how we packed, what the weather did — ask us. We would rather answer the question than put a badge on it.
Why we sell direct
A mango that travels through a mandi, a wholesaler, a cold chain and a retailer is a different fruit by the time it reaches you. We started selling directly a few years ago so that the mango you open is the one we picked, packed and dispatched. Someone in the family packs every box. That is not a marketing line — it is simply the size we operate at.
Orders start at one kilogram because we would rather you try a small box than commit to a large one on our word alone.
Talking to us
There is no support desk and no chatbot. Questions about an order, a delivery or a damaged box reach a member of the family directly. You can find our contact details here, read what we write about mangoes, or place an order when the season is on.
